"Death does not give out free wishes, child." The woman's stern eyes gazed down upon him from her desk.
"But I don't have anything to pay you with!"
"Well I suppose you must go away then." She continued to stamp papers with an unchanged expression.
"Please, ma'am!"
"I cannot help you. You want to save your sister, save your finances first. You can't come in here expecting Death to be a fundraiser. Do you know how hard that was? We tried once. All the cupcakes were eel flavored,"
"Ma'am please-" The boy held up a small leather-bound journal. "Would this be enough?"

Hello to the *2* people that follow me! This story is mine so please don't copy, because I am a nice person. Not that that stops people from doing terrible things, but still. On a different note, this story is dark and is themed around Death, if you hadn't already guessed it. Which I'm hoping for the sake of humanity you did. Anyways, don't get too cheery going into this because life doesn't have a rainbow pastel filter and neither does this story. It has way more of a black and white vibe. To get to the final summary of this-whatever this is: This is way different than any work that I've ever done before, so here's hoping that I can actually write. *fingers crossed*
