Back in 1998, I self-published a 'zine' at a local printers. It took all sorts of hassle, striving and saving to produce something which would always look a bit crappy. Now that Wattpad has enabled everyone to present graphic media in experimental ways, here's a bit of a throwback to a less lustrous era which might still inspire a few storytelling possibilities, or at least amuse fellow fans of a magnificent movie.

Katrina Kyle left the life of Catgirl behind a long time ago and had no intention of going back. It isn't until the life of her mother is threatened that she suits up again. Her mission isn't to steal a precious jewel or a priceless artifact: it is to find the identity of the infamous Red Hood, a vigilante who kills off thugs and criminals alike. Katrina starts to develope feelings for the Red Hood as well as a mysterious bad boy, Jason Todd. She will have to choose between the two of them (or so she believes) as well as choose between the life of her mother or to save the secret identity of the Red Hood.

"Pamela Isely Martin! How dare you do this to your sister, and how dare you ruin my reputation like this!" My mother screams at me from across the room, and takes a gulp of brandy out of her fancy glass. "I-I don't know what I did Mom," I stutter, "it wasn't my fault, he did this to me." "Why can't you just be like your sister?" She whispers. "I've tried! I can't be perfect. I can't be an oblivious spoiled brat for the rest of my life, I want to be a scientist." "Well then it's a good thing you're going to an asylum, somewhere people like you can get help," Lydia smirks. "W-what?" The color drains from my face, my body is trembling with wrath and sadness. How could they do this to me? "did dad say this was okay?" "Of course, he signed the papers with me," she laughs in a drunken stupor, "now get packed, you're leaving tomorrow morning."
