A/N: It started as a Darkling x OC book. But I couldn't justify that for the second season. So, for the second season, it has become a Nikolai x OC book. (I blame Ben Barnes even though I had read the books and knew what was coming, it still started with the Darkling, but then Nikolai swaggered onto the screen, and it just had to change!) Season 1: The Darkling was quite happy to keep to himself, locking everybody out. But that was hard when a chatty hyper healer was determined to get his attention without even realising it. The one problem is that having the Darkling's attention brought a lot of unwanted attention in and of itself. Leigh just wanted to befriend everybody (well, not everybody; she would love to be more than friends with a particular shadow summoner.) I was uncontent with the way the Darkling died, that Alina and Mal "died" and that they ended up otkatsta'sya. My story changes that. And remember; DARKNESS NEVER DIES

How season 2 of "Shadow and Bone" on Netflix should have ended. Because the once lonely and scared child named Aleksander still deserves a chance.

Events happen after the end of King of Scars and will mainly focus on Alina and the Darkling. Spoilers ahead. Rule of Wolves might be spoiled if I decide to go around the book (not yet read) or completely ignore the events that are happening there. This fanfic will explore their bond more.
