But after his mother was ripped away from him and brutally murdered by the same people who killed his father, he's on the run from the powers that be. Having no other alternative, he merges with his father's spirit to fight and expose those who killed his mother, and are out to also destroy him.

Theo Castillo parties the night away with his friends and new peers as they celebrate a new year at their school Ravenwood High. The night started normally, hanging with his friends, talking to new students, playing party games, the type of thing you'd enjoy at a large scale party. At a party devoid of rational adults and spiked punch, things start to get a tad out of hand. A game of truth or dare breaks out and Theo has been dared to go into the forbidden forest with "witch girl" Zuleika Ruiz. A girl who has been hated and berated by the town for being the only person to come back alive from the forest, to the town's recollection. After returning from the forbidden forest alive, Theo finds himself confused when his friends start to ignore him. He suspects that they're ignoring him for two reasons. The first because they think he is a "witch" now as well and the second being because he was the whole reason Cash invited Zuleika to the after party, but he's not exactly sure that second idea is the reason.
