This is a short story I wrote for a competition at school. The prompt was "You stumble upon a closed door. What is behind it? Why is it closed?" My ending was vague, but I still liked it! Enjoy!

"What... what is this place?" Reina whispered, her voice barely a breath. "I don't know," Selene replied, her voice tense. "But I think we're not supposed to be here."

One cold March day three girls are kidnapped, or so most people think. But no one really knows what happened that day, even Miri, Ruby and Kat don't know. Miri's school blows up and she is one of the only survivor. She knows she will be blamed. She's running from the blame. Kat comes home to find the PAP at her house. They shot and killed her rebellious brother because of his underground newspaper. She is running from the tears. Ruby's class is touring a government building when all hell breaks out and The Leader is almost shot. Everyone thinks she had something to do with it. She didn't shoot him. Her friend did. She is running from the truth. Stella. Well no one knows what she really did. Only that she is running from her responsibilities. You better keep running girls. Because if you stop. Well let's just say don't ever stop.

This story is not based on a real story, but it contains elements that are real. Don't take this story too seriously; just read and enjoy.

A magical door appears in Arnie and Eli's attic. When Eli goes through, it's Arnie's job to bring him back. This sets them off on a magical and fantastical adventure as they attempt to get back home. Inspired by some of my favorite stories growing up, like Chronicles of Narina, the door is a short story that will one day bloom into something much larger.
