For the sake of many, it would be easier to call this being simply Purpose, with whom Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, came into close connection at the beginning of his reign, for men tend to ponder their purpose in their dreams. A poem about a character from The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. Brief summary for those who are not familiar with the series. There are 7 beings that are more god-like than actual gods. They are the embodiment of concepts that drive the universe and everything in it. The are personal manifestations of those concepts, but have their own personalities, Some of which clash with what they are meant to represent. For example, Death is the most chillest and full of life, and Destruction wants to create art. I'm not going to get too into it, I suggest reading the comic series yourself. It is my all time favorite story. This poem is about Desire, the most primal of all The Endless, but also the most sophisticated. Although this character is the most problematic and vindictive, they also represent the most prominent part of every living organism. It doesn't have to be sexual. We desire food, shelter, entertainment conversation, solitude. It is both good and bad. But everyone wants something. Needs something. Not everyone wants to screw, but everyone needs to eat. This is my first time writing about the sandman so be nice. Morpheus dream of the endless was visiting the mortal world with his older sister Death. they went to a tavern together and saw a mortal man saying he wasn't ever going to die a man named Hob. Dream asked his sister to keep him alive so he could see how long it takes someone to beg for death. On his way out of the tavern, he could hear a beautiful voice that got his attention he followed the voice until he saw a woman singing a lovely song that caught his attention, he was very interested in her in many ways not just her beauty but her powers as well. He finds out she's a caster of magic. Dream starts to visit the girl every few days to see what spells she can use, and how she uses them. Also, this turns the jealous heart of the Corinthian to step in and take matters into his own hands. Since he felt that he was Morpheus's masterpiece and no one else would ever have or touch his master but him so he tries to remove Hope from Dream's heart, will he win or Dream do everything in his power to keep Hope by his side?
