Two hundred years in the future, humanity has colonised the solar system. There was always tension between the three main powers in the system; the OPA (outer planets alliance), the MCR (Martian congressional republic) and the UN. Until recently. One year ago, a ship blew up. A war started. An incredibly dangerous extraterrestrial organism was deliberately released into the population of Eros station. A company was blamed for the war and the bioweapon, and all of its assets frozen indefinitely. Eros moved. One year after the destruction of Eros station, by crashing it into Venus, and the elimination of the last sample of this strange bioweapon (the Protomolecule), the war starts back up again. Ships are blowing each other to pieces, Venus is changing in ways no one can understand, and something killed two full squads of marines on the icy surface of Ganymede.
