But whether my survival was a good thing or a bad thing was yet to be known... Takes place about a year after The Force Awakens (this is an AU). Ben Solo is gone. From the ashes of the young son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, Kylo Ren has arisen to spread fear throughout the galaxy. Motivated by the eagerness to please the spirit of his grandfather, Darth Vadar, Ren is willing to destroy everything in his wake and prove his devotion to the dark side. But there is conflict inside him, even the Supreme Leader can sense it. Will he forever remain Kylo Ren or is it possible to follow the steps of his grandfather and resist the darkness?

Working as a mechanic for the Resistance was never supposed to be easy. The risks were at the back of everyone's mind, between the rising first order and loom of war over their heads everyone was on edge, any day could be their last. But what wasn't supposed to be a problem was him, or rather, the feelings that were beginning to arise in his presence. They called him the best pilot in the resistance, perhaps even the galaxy, but he'd never look her way...right? (Set just before The Force Awakens, Sola, a droid mechanic new to the Resistance stumbles into Poe on the first day at the base. From then on she just seems to keep running into him, totally by accident of course. The story will follow along side the movies but focus on the time at base/in between what happens in the movies from a new perspective. It's a slow burn romantic fic, with all the fluffy tropes, mention of blood, war, injuries, assault, death as well as panic attacks/anxiety so please remember this when reading if you are sensitive. I apologise for any mistakes with grammar or Star Wars Lore/Facts, I'm trying my best to stick to Canon information so if I got anything wrong feel free to correct me respectfully. Baring in mind this is from the perspective of an original character who also possess limited knowledge of certain areas. I appreciate all feedback and comments and hope you enjoy!)

Finally having caught his owner's attention, BB-8 let out a series of mournful beeps, making him sigh in defeat. "Your friend?" Poe asked. "She's been missing for more than 4 days now on her search for Luke Skywalker. We can't use the map to track her as she took the R2 droid with her on the Millennium Falcon, nor can we contact her via holo - she just refuses to pick up. Right now the Resistance is in shreds after destroying Starkiller Base, and we're running out of options very quickly." Finn took a deep breath in, trying not to panic. The last time he'd seen Rey she had been knocked unconscious by... "What happens if Kylo Ren finds her before us?" he asked suddenly, voicing his fears. "Then we're all doomed."
