Anthony, 17, lives in a place where there's no difference, no suffering, hunger, war, and, as you will soon see, no color, sex, music, or love. Everything is controlled by "the Elders". When he graduate, he is assigned as the receiver of memories. Will the giver teach him too much?

The poem “Feelings” is about how jonas’s perspective on feelings change throughout the book “The Giver”. In the beginning of the book “The Giver” Jonas doesn’t really know much of what feelings are and he kinda questions himself on what his feelings are. Then he starts learning happiness and just all of these emotion and words, but some of the memories he learns about are painful and hard to grasp. Then he learns of love and just decides that everyone should know of all the happiness and fun of the world. Even though the painful memories are still there he thinks that life isn’t worth living without the concept of love and happiness. (All of this was just phrases from the book that I put together and got some completes so I posted it creat to the giver )

What happened to Jonas after he left the community? And what happened BEFORE he started his new life?

Jonas has feelings of intimacy towards his best friend Asher, however, in the community that they live in, all feelings of love and affection have been suppressed and outlawed by the "Stirrings pills". When Jonas finds a way to escape from the metal grasp of the government, he has to make a choice. Should he leave and find a way to Elsewhere by himself, or should he stay for his loved ones?
