Amy Mellor is a quiet, geeky, sporty, 14 year old who has been taken in by the overprotective smothering Beverly Goldberg. She quickly finds her footing at William Penn Academy confiding in Lainey and especially Coach Mellor. However she soon finds out, she shares more than just a surname with the demanding gym coach.

When Cherry is forced to move from San Jose, California, to Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, she was forced to leave her old life behind. She expected a boring, miserable life in Jenkintown, but that all changes once she walks through the doors of William Penn Academy and meets a certain aburn haired boy.
