What if every year two people put their names in a drawing bowl by their own choice along with everyone else that's wanted to join in, that lives in the Untied States? What if these people were pre teens and teenagers, ranging from the ages of nine to seventeen? Katrina is fourteen. She is used to the good life of wealth and living in the first class region in the United States. But when her parents lose their job, they have three months to evacuate their mansion. The Hunter Festival starts in a week, and that is where they will draw the two children who will be be forced to kill each other and only one can survive. There is no arena. The whole country and its territories are your arena. Both children get an unlimited money card to look for each other or hide from each other. Kylie is Katrina's friend from the third class district. Her mother is dying from cancer and she doesn't have enough money to pay for her treatment. She resorts to participating in the Hunter festival in hopes that her name will be drawn from the bowl, either as a Hunter or the Prey. She has trained for this her whole life. She is sure to win, right?
