Have you ever wished to be different? Maybe you just wanted to be different because of who you were. Perhaps you are just like me... I used to stay up late at night, and I would wish on a star, I would wish to be different. I wanted to do something that nobody else could, so I wished for powers, any kind, I wasn't going to be picky, I was just so desperate to be different. Well one day I got my wish. At first I didn't even know that I had these abilities, but when I found out what I could do my life changed. I hated the day that I became different, I hated it because of what I did, and I hated it because I couldn't control it. What happened was all my fault, maybe if I had learned how to control it sooner things would have been different, but that isn't what happened. I felt like a monster, I was a monster. I decided to go into hiding, but that didn't end up lasting long. I started to feel angry, only I wasn't mad at the world, I wasn't even mad at me, I was mad at the people who started this. I started planning for my revenge, I didn't have much to go off of other than people in lab coats were running some kind of test on me. I went online and started typing down things that I could remember into the search bar, and after some time I found an article about some corporation that was stating things that went on in there, It was stating things that had happened to me. Could I ever be good enough for him? The founders didn't think so. After the nuclear war against countries, the Earth was crumbling, until our saviors, known as the founders, came to save the day by constructing an 'ideal' society. This society is based on how capable, how smart you are, and important to the future of mankind. A sliver of glass separates us, the entire human race. Just a test, the founders say. Which is when the society deemed that those that cannot contribute to the society should be cut out of it. Why waste supplies on those that are useless to mankind? My death date is planned already. I even know how I'd die. Lined up, kneeling in the dirt, with a bullet through my head. This gives me a calm feeling, at least I know how and when I die.
