It's the beginning of the Maze trials and about 10 Gladers have been to the test so far. But then, WICKED decides to shake things up a bit by sending Jane, the first girl, as a sort of trial and error. What WICKED wasn't expecting was for her to fall for the calm and collected second in command. How will WICKED respond to that curveball? And how will the budding romance affect the catalyst?

The remaining Gladers went through the Flat Trans into the Paradise. What they didn't know was that Teresa wasn't dead. But she isn't herself, anymore. And when she somehow finds a way into the Gladers' Paradise, It comes crashing down.
