Set in the same universe as the critically acclaimed and vastly loved video games and show, The Last Of Us, this story follows the journey of a group that found each other before and after the world ended on Outbreak Day. The story begins in a Savannah State University Classroom, just before the Cordyceps infection had officially begun. Two unlikely classmates, Dereck and Anna, watch as the world begins to crumble around them, their lives being forever changed by the Cordyceps fungus. Dereck must find his sister, a CDC scientist assigned to study the Cordyceps fungus, and Anna and her family in Atlanta. The two need to learn to adapt to a decaying world as the Cordyceps infection quickly spreads through the southern regions of America. The dangers they will encounter are everywhere. Hordes of infected. Runners, Stalkers, Clickers, Shamblers, and Bloaters are always looming threats, but soon they will learn that the biggest threat is people. Dereck and Anna must learn to adapt to this new world, and not only find a way to survive but to live.
