Never before in all her born days had Judee Levinson felt so humiliated. How could she have ever thought she'd have a chance with Charlie? How could she have been so incorrect?
With nowhere left to go, Judee finds herself in the pub. That awful place that always smelled of week old beer, and where the tables were stickier than the massage tables had become back at Spit and Polish. Where Charlie had embarrassed himself at the line dancing competition last Christmas.
Alone and out of place, it is here that she is greeted by a sight she never expected: Stella Hull. Or at least, that was what her card was going to say until she had the time to clear up the divorce with the bank.
Having dealt with Charlie far longer than Judee ever had, she seems like the perfect woman to make her realise that she doesn't need a man to be happy.
But a woman? That's a whole other story.
