The name of the Sato organization was in shades for a while until a handsome man, Mako Sann, came to offer help. What if Korra didn't defeat her uncle? What if she died with Raava's spirit? In a world where humans can bend the four elements of water, earth, fire, and air, darkness has taken control. The protector of the world, Avatar Korra, bender of all four elements, is no more. The line of Dark Avatars Unalaq started years ago have grown to power. Hope for a world of light had faded away to all except for Maylin. But even her hope dwindles as everything begins to crumble around her. However, when she meets a spirit boy named Wan, a new hope kindles within her. She sets off with him to bring back harmony and peace. But there is never an easy way out. Maylin will have to overcome many trials: secrets, lies, and even betrayal from the people closest to her, before the world can be at peace. The fate of the world for the next ten thousand years will ultimately be decided by her actions. Will she be able to bring back the light? Or will she be doomed to live in darkness forever?

After giving birth a year after marrying Mako, Korra dies at childbirth and like the cycle of the seasons, the Avatar cycle began a new. However sixteen years have past and the avatar has yet to be found in the earth kingdom. A chaos erupts in the spirit world, Mako's daughter Hanabi, a fire bender is sent to live with her cousins in Ba Sing Se as her father sets out to figure out what is going on in the spirit world with his brother Bolin. As the world is in need of an avatar, Hanabi encounters a boy might turn out to be the world's hope of survival.

As Korra travels deeper into its ancient paths, she begins reconnecting with the lost legacy of the Avatar cycle itself - rediscovering echoes of Avatar Wan and Avatar Aang that may help her restore what she thought was gone forever. Along the way, Asami stays by her side, helping Korra face the fears and pain she buried after the battle with Kuvira. Back in Republic City, Mako and Bolin work to protect the city and support Korra's return, while Lin Beifong notices something unsettling: traces of metal still remain inside Korra's body, small enough to escape notice... but powerful enough to affect her connection to herself, the Spirit World, and the Avatar State. As old wounds reopen and new dangers emerge between spirits and humans, Korra must decide what kind of Avatar she wants to become after the war is already over.
