Brielle Kensington's 17 birthday was supposed to be fun. But a yacht filled with her father's snobby rich friends was not what she had in mind. Just when she thinks she's found a friend on board (a hot one too!) a storm comes up out of nowhere. Brielle is carried overboard by a huge wave, and she nearly drowns. When she wakes, she finds that she's been rescued by the handsome and curious Caspian, a mermaid (sorry, merman) prince. Caspian has studied humans for years, and knows nearly enough to become one. After meeting Brielle, he wants nothing more than to finally be human. Brielle and Caspian navigate worlds neither feel like they belong in, and figure out where they truly belong-- together!

Percy and the seven have just defeated Gaea and were summoned to Olympus. The gods wanted to thank them for their bravery and loyalty, and offer each one of them the gift of immortality. Piper, Jason, Hazel, Frank, and... Annabeth all accept the gift. Except for Percy. Percy then feels betrayed and gets into a fight with Annabeth, who uses her new powers in vain on Percy. Percy then disappears while his friends are desperately trying to find him, while trying to break the curse.
