Sophie summers was different from other people. She noticed the little things. For example the beauty in Matthew Miller. Matthew Miller didn't care to notice the little things. He didn't care for school or his life. He was brainwashed by kids who claim they are better than him. He thinks he's a freak. Sophie summers makes it her goal to help him notice the little things. Its the little things in life that actually count in the end. Its those late night conversations with your best friend on the phone, trying not to be so loud because everyone is asleep Its the spontaneous venturing into the park The unplanned plans, the way you become friends with someone. After all these moments are the ones that give us the best memories we remember forever. ______________________________________________________________________ "You know when we said that we wanted to meet up over spring break...this isn't what we meant" was all I could say. I didn't get the response I was hoping for though. I was expecting for a smile, a laugh, a joke even but all I got was the monotonous beep of the monitor filling the dead room. I've always liked the silence, but this kind was one that I didn't enjoy very well. I couldn't take it anymore, the tears I've tried to stop flowed endlessly and I had to leave,my best friend hot on my heels trying to calm me down. But it was hard, how could I not cry when one of our best friends was about to die? ______________________________________________________________________ Hey, this description may seem like a downer but I promise that the story is gonna be fun and less of a downer. I had a friend who looked at and loved the little things in life and from them I've learned that its the little things in life that makes a difference and so I've decided to write this story as a way of thanks. !WARNING!- This book contains things about high school and middle school and relationships and humour but it also contains some heartbreaking moments such as death.

I thought if I threw them away, the memory would go with them. A pair of obnoxious, colorful fly swatters that I eventually had to get rid of because the sight of them felt like a bruise. "Fly Swatters" is about the souvenirs we destroy to survive, and the haunting realization that some things stay with you long after you've cleared the shelf.

They say "Treasure the little things in life" so I will. this "book" is all about the little things in my life, that make me laugh, and make me happy. For example, the other day I was with @cloveting, and an ambulance passed by. It's sirens were on, and it's lights were flashing. I really wanted to be nice, so I decided to wave at it. To my delight the ambulance driver waved back! ^-^ I know it sounds wierd, and cheesy, but these are the little things that we can all treasure. Enjoy them! QLOLC
