Guy-Am-I and Jimmy just wanted a simple, quiet job. But instead, they ended up working as assistant managers in Sam's Gang; the brand-new and weirdest wholesale club in town. This store, run by the very persistent Sam-I-Am, is totally chaotic. The lights are way too bright, the shopping carts have their own personalities, and the food court serves a menu completely lit up in neon green. Will Guy-Am-I and Jimmy be able to handle their shift, deal with strange customers, and stop Sam from putting green food coloring in the soda machine? Or will they crack and accept that wholesale retail isn't so bad after all?

It literally took me about 2 hours mulling over what I would do for this contest's theme. If I were to be quite honest with you all, I REALLY didn't want to do a Lorax thing for this contest, (and the Once-ler's character arc was already too canon for things lmao) but then this idea just... came up. And it was too good and heartbreaking to pass up. Because the first thing I thought up when I saw the contest details was that, "DAMN I'm so gonna write about a Hero turned Villain! But I need an unconventional hero who doesn't really turn evil, just... someone who did something really awry and that in turn makes them the bad guy for doing it." And so I wrote this short fic with a screaming heart because that idea was just perfect. An AU where Ted... well... just read it to find out, I guess? Also hey. After meeting the Onceler during his travels, you find that he has something you don't; hope, hope that someday, things will brighten up for him. The Once-ler gets trapped in a storybook,all he wants to do is desperately get back to the truffula trees so he can save them before his mean relatives cut them all down. Will the once-ler get back in time to save the trees?Or will he discover true love and let the trees die?
