How do you get over the loss of a loved one? People tell you that it will get better. Acquaintances offer you words of support. Strangers who were never in your life before find it their duty to try to be apart of it and fill the hole the loss left. Yet, none of that works. Loss changes you until suddenly you aren't the same person you were before, as if those who passed were a critical part of you. And nearly no one can help you heal. Not for a while. Until one person finds their way into your life, one person who could change anything and everything you needed to change. Until one person finds a way to consume all of your thoughts so that none of the negative ones are left. Until one person takes the time to give you time to fix yourself, because God knows no one else will. Until one person loves you more firmly than anyone ever has and makes the stars seem dark in comparison to them. Until one person makes you love them, and every scar on their face, freckle on their nose, and imperfection that makes them even more perfect. Only then will you truly be healed.
