Some years ago, astronaut Mark Watney of Ares 3 became stranded on the surface of Mars. His crewmates, determined not to let him die, resolved to turn their Hermes spacecraft around and come back for him. Before doing this, they needed to obtain more supplies in order to sustain themselves for the duration of the extended mission. The China National Space Administration agreed to sacrifice their Taiyang Shen probe and booster in order to send the astronauts the supplies they needed. In exchange, a Chinese astronaut would be given a seat on Ares 5, the last scheduled Ares mission to Mars. This is the story of that mission and the consequences of that collaboration undertaken to save Mark Watney's life.

Ava Collins couldn't have been more excited to be a part of the Ares 3 mission to Mars, but what happens when she falls for the flight surgeon, Dr Chris Beck against the Commander's wishes?

Desdemona, or "Desi" Moore was a 35 year old Chemist and Physicist who went on the Ares 3 in 2035. Sadly when a storm hits Mars the crew is forced to leave, by tragic accidents leaving 2 of their crew members behind thinking they were dead. How will they survive? How will they Bond? Read to find out what happens to the 2 only humans in one entire planet. This book is a fanfiction from the movie (and possible book i haven't read yet) The Martian. I own the character Desdemona Moore and everything she does. Also the different ideas that are not from the movie which is where I took most dialogue off.

In the final decades of Earth's environmental collapse, humanity's last hope was the Providence, a 2.3-kilometer generation ship carrying 1,200 carefully selected humans, 4,000 animal species, 8,000 insect species, 8,000 plant species, and the frozen genetic legacy of 50,000 more. Her mission was to find a habitable planet and establish a settlement before the human species vanishes forever. The ship had a living ecosystem with a fusion heart, an Organic Hull Sheath that heals her wounds, and advanced technologies including the Oculus AI, Memory Looms that preserve experiences, and a Quantum Entanglement Communicator offering a thread-thin connection to Earth. The ship went through a series of crisis, e.g., rice blast fungus threatening the food supply, gravitational anomaly forcing the crew to vent water and flooding the agricultural decks, void-born teenagers attempting to hijack the ship toward a beautiful nebula, and connection signal lost with the Earth, and at Year 20th, it arrived at Avalon, a 94.7% habitable planet with purple flora, lavender sky and breathable atmosphere. The crew established a settlement and continued to grow a city on Avalon.

Waking up to #BringBeckNova trending all over the world was certainly not what she had in mind when Nova let Mindy talk her into watching the monitors while she ran to the bathroom. Though truth be told, she's not sure she would mind spending some with the blue-eyed flight surgeon. With a a livid father, and an offer for NASA, the near future suddenly looks a lot different than she had anticipated. "[02.32] JSC: Hello, Beck is fine. [02.33] JSC: Sorry. Horrible joke and totally inappropriate. Please delete that from your memory. [02.45] HRM: Don't think I will be able to delete that from my memory. New entertainment is hard to come by here in outer Space. Beck."

What happens before astronauts go into orbit, or in this case, before they go to Mars? Meet Dr. Katherine Moran, the chemist and astrophysicist assigned to the Ares III mission. She enjoys fast cars, and proving that she is worthy of this assignment. She's not looking for a knight in shining armor, but no one said anything about another doctor in a NASA spacesuit...

It is 2062, and the colonisation of Mars is at its height. Humanity's dreams have come true, with a nearly self-sufficient settlement on Mars and major plans being put forward for large-scale terraforming. However, colonisation is never easy. With ever increasing threats from the mining corporations to influence the Martian Environmental Treaty, the settlement is left to fend for the planet - or die. Will the settlement be able to save the frontier of human civilisation, or will it fall prey to evil corporations and into the jaws of abuse and destruction?

Katie, who is just out of college, gets a job at a library in New York. She stumbles upon Sebastian Stan and love soon sparks between the two. Since Katie doesn't like being in the spotlight and is a simple person, she doesn't know if she'll be able to handle a relationship with Seb and his fame.
