Thematic Stories

This is my first attempt at an organized chapbook. It's filled with poetry written during some of the most existential turmoil I have experienced in my life thus far. Many of the poems explore thoughts of depression, loneliness, loss, and the heavy burden of continuing forward with the weight of it all. I hope that these words and emotions can land, and possibly help someone know that there are others out there, sharing the roadmap of life with them.

In a quiet rural community, a little girl watches a company arrive with promises, machines, and smoke. Told through the innocent eyes of Tea Pot, The Arrival of Smoke follows one family as land is taken, water is stolen, and survival is dressed up as opportunity. It's a story about work, silence, fathers who believe, mothers who resist, and what a child understands long before adults admit the truth. Some things come slowly. Others arrive like smoke-and never really leave. A postcolonial coming-of-age novel rooted in Caribbean social realism.

Every now and then (usually by accident) I write a poem. Any poems I produce that I still consider pleasing after a few weeks will end up here.

Not me. Secretly I love anime. All the boys in my school are ew gross fat gamers who are incels and ugly or just pure brain dead even if some are hot. Everyday I go back from my terrible high school with bullies and I go home and watch my favourite anime... Wow These Boys Sure Are Attractive! And my favourite character is Reyu. Reyu has curly brown hair and towers over all the incels. And he has a really hot body. His face is so... uwu. I have a shrine dedicated to him which I pray to every night. But the last time I prayed something magical happened which would change my life forever.

The story takes place in the ancient Kingdom of Ulric. The tale follows Princess Mary who lives a quiet life. Her life changes when a prophecy comes to pass involving her kingdom's dreaded foe.

"A storm is coming..." Alpha muttered quietly. "Best get Rain and the elders into their dens before things get worse." "How long 'till she's due?" Hex said quietly before scratching her ear with her hind paw. "Aye," he said, taking a moment to think. "I think another lap of the Moon Wolf er' so." "Alpha?" The quiet and blind Healer wolf said, leaping onto the rock above Greyriver, or Alpha's den. "Aye, Lunar? Everything alright?" "I've seen something." Her sightless eyes stared just past Alpha's shoulder. "Something's coming." Hex blinked, then curled her lip. "Cut the cryptic dung. What's coming?" Lunar changed her line of 'sight' to her paws. "My spirit guides wouldn't give me an exact answer. All I know is this;" Her gaze changed once again. Straight into Alpha's eyes, almost as though she could see into his soul. "A storm is coming. But it will not come in the form of weather. She will appear in the form of a hybrid, more powerful than anyone anticipates. She will bring death, but she will also bring salvation."
