"Save me.." Katrina Mason whispered. But she wasn't saying it to someone else; in fact, she was saying to herself. Katrina had been working on a case. A hard case. "Probably the most difficult case I've ever done", she told everyone who asked. This case was assigned to her because she was the Chief of the Chattanooga Police Station, and as her job as such, she was kind of sorta a big deal. Katrina ran her gloved hand against the surface of the house. It was an abandoned one, the windows had been blown out, and the hand-cut wood was deteriorating. This house was her case, although she wasn't really told why except for the fact that she had lived near the home. Her childhood wasn't something she liked to talk about; her dad passed away in a shooting in 2009. That's where she got her "police genes". After that, her mother fell apart and "they", meaning the police, didn't consider her a suitable mother anymore, so Katrina was placed in a foster home, where she was soon adopted. She had 3 step sisters, all older than her. She didn't really mind the fact that she was the youngest; which, in her case meant she got treated the best and absolutely never got blamed for everything. Although she would have preferred to be a little older so she could have someone to boss around, but she figured it didn't work that way. "Shoot," Dave exclaimed. "Well, what do we do next?" Katrina asked. You see, Katrina was headed back to the police station with some useful notes on the house when she noticed something weird. As she backed out of the driveway she noticed the dirt had been kicked up. And she knew it wasn't her because she had driven up a different path. It was freshly kicked up, in fact, which means someone had been there before her. Someone who shouldn't have.
