It all started when the Oncler cut down the Truffula trees. Polluted air hung over cities like storm clouds, soil erosion produced unforgiving sandstorms, and 3/4ths of all animal life went extinct. Cities were tense, for they knew their resources would run dry.
Aloysius O'Hare, however, rose to the occasion and became a figure of hope. By selling his bottled air, he quelled the worries of the people--because they if they can find a way to get clean air, they could get clean water and rich soil again. However, O'Hare's reputation was soon destroyed, along with their new-found hope.
That's how the "Resource War" began. Cities clashed with each other out of fear and desperation. Whole communities crumbled in the hands of anarchy. Violence was at an all time high, however, most died of dehydration and starvation. People prayed for an end, but they soon realized their mistake. The end came in the form of nuclear warfare, leaving the Earth a barren wasteland.
Here we follow Scavenger Oncler (nicknamed "Ven"), a brainy inventor who searches city ruins for his projects. One day, during a metal parts haul, he finds huge scratches on the sides of buildings, pools of blood, and the tracks of a large unknown creature. This city has metal scraps in the best shape he's seen. He can't afford to leave. So Ven, scared out of his mind, sets out to find and capture the creature.
Will Ven uncover the truth of this mystery creature, or will he die fighting for it?
