Innocence - a pure, guileless or naive person. That's what Averie Asher was, innocent. Despite getting locked up for possession of illegal substances alongside her two best friends, the girl still held a child-like innocence. It's the exact reason why she was the Ark's sweetheart. Averie never expected to be sent down to earth with 99 other prisoners but when she was, she strived to protect her friends and reunite with her family...all while keeping that innocence alive. Scarlett Miller on the other hand was not innocent. At a young age she learnt to harness her good hearing to be able to sell secrets for anything she could get her hands on. Yet, gossiping was not what she was locked up for. Scarlett was locked up because of an altercation with her mother, leaving the older woman for a scar she would never be able to get rid of. Scarlett was nothing like Averie, she had no innocence, no childhood, yet when the two girls ended up being cellmates, they quickly realised it was better to be friends then not. Scarlett Miller knew that going down to Earth was a risk, but she was willing to take that risk in order to start a new life where she didn't need to sell secrets to survive. John Murphy is simply a mistake. No matter what he does, he hurts someone else, whether accidentally or on purpose. So when him and 99 other juvenile delinquents are sent to Earth, he does what he's always done; pushed everyone away, including Bellamy Blake, a fellow mistake who wants to open up Murphy's eyes.
