She's just going through a bundle of cheesy old love letters from her late husband, who mysteriously disappeared three years ago, when she comes across one she's never seen before. The envelope is already open, and it seems older than the rest of the letters, though she doesn't recognize the handwriting. Sparked by a sudden rush of excitement and curiosity, she takes it upon herself to find out who wrote the strange letter. As she digs deeper and deeper, finding out more and more about the writer, things start making sense, and signs pop up indicating there might even be a connection between the note and her husband's disappearance...

A new threat has risen that places not only the Crown but the very existence of all the species, inhuman and human alike, that walk the earth in peril. There was a distinctive stench carried through in the light breeze that caressed her fur. A rotten smell mixed with wet soil. That stench had been toying with her for the past week. She had been out to hunt twice and it annoyed her that she had not been able to pinpoint its location. "Maila, come on. It's time to head back," Luc shouted. She growled in protest giving him a good view of her sharpened teeth.

For 5 years she's been staying in garden after garden, fighting for her survival. There's nothing unique about Rose, she's cold, she's lonely, and she's defensive. Reggie comes from this line of vampire hunters, nature's definitive balance to the darkness. Her whole life has been building up to this one mission in Romania, to face the evil that started everything for her family. Unfortunately there are others with their eyes on Dracula too, and Reggie has run right into them. She must make them allies or remove them from the game before she can face the ultimate foe.

Teleya lives a privileged life, she has a decent sized house, her parents are rarely home and they will buy her almost anything, but there is one rule. She's not allowed to open, touch, or go near the closet located on the third floor. Involves a sleepover, the reappearance of an old friend turned enemy, and something we like to call the Otherworld. (For the Open Novella Contest) I do not own the picture I edited for the cover. And I will not be putting the open novella sticker thing on it till I get eliminated. Which will probably be next round. Notes: There might be some editing now and then, will try to update maybe once a week? The title and the cover are subject to change. Grammar is stupid as is punctuation. And lastly this story does include a minor integration of the German language, some of the maybe harder to understand things I will translate while using The Book Thief novel as a model because as some of you might know, that book has a decent amount of German in it. WIth werewolves finally in control of the crown, Danar doesn't want to lose it and become slaves to the Monarchy once more. With his father dead and people in his city disappearing, he doesn't know what to do. Then he hears from the former Vampire ruler, Josiah and has to decide to trust the person who has the most power to take him down if it means he can save his people. *** The prisoner panted loudly as two of the King's Guards held the man's arms tightly behind his back. "Let him go," Danar commanded. The guards did as they were told, though reluctantly. "Good evening, you former Highness." The man chuckled deeply, still gazing at the floor, his hands now supporting him as he coughed. When he had finally caught his breath, the last Vampire King looked up at Danar, a twisted smile on his lips. "And to you, Highness." Danar gave a quick wave of his hand and the guards moved slightly back, still close enough to stop an attack. Danar wasn't worried. "I never expected to see you again Josiah." Shakily the vampire, Josiah, stood. "Nor did I expect to let you, yet here we are." Though in clear pain the former King stood tall, his full length towering the werewolf's by at least by at least a foot. "Do you know who is taking my people?" Danar continued finally. "They are grey as stone, faster than the vampires, stronger than the wolves, stealthier than the merfolk, and more dangerous than anything you have ever known. With one wrong scratch, they can take down an entire world. They are taking down our world."

A vicious and violence-lusting new creature challenges the Lady of Shadows' realm, and it cannot be killed nor destroyed by her powers, magic or sword. Only one is destined to this fight: a broken human being named Conor with a difficult past of drugs addiction and a precarious present. A journey of challenges, struggles, magic, dark sentiments, damnation or redemption is laid before Conor and he has one choice only, if he wishes to go back to his own world. But does he really wish so? This story is written for The Open Novella Contest in the genre of Fantasy.
