Luz Noceda is a perfectly normal human with a normal family. She lives with her mom in the small town of Gravesfield, Conneticut. But this story isn't about her. It's about her older (adopted) brother, Hunter. He is much less normal on account of his genetic mutations causing his ears to be pointed and his eyes magenta. But, he manages and lives his life as normal as he can. He leads a simple life of protecting his sister, and himself, from bullies, making it through school, and doing everything he can to fit in. All of this is thrown to shambles when he and his sister fall though a portal into a mysterious world. Together, they have to work at surviving this strange place. Although, for Hunter, it doesn't seem quite as strange as it would to a normal kid.

Chouette City is a hotspot for akumas, but luckily, two heroes protect it from harm. After on of the owl crew's failed attempts at reopening the door to the demon realm, luz starts trying crazier thing, one of which is making a chemical reaction to try to make it work which, quite literally, blows up in her face. The explosion caused her to go deaf, and now the crew has to figure out how to get home in partial silence. Wracked with guilt, Caleb tries to move on past the slaying but can't get the image of his baby brother's body out of his head. The good thing is, Evelyn knows of an ancient way to bring someone back from the dead. This is an AU where Caleb kills Philip in defense and feels immense guilt over his actions. Evelyn suggests they could make a Grimwalker of Philip, which they do, and they end up raising him.

Both Hunter Wittebane and Amity Wittebane are right hand guards for the Emperor of the isles, Belos. These two are known as the Golden Guard and Silver Soldier. Amity Wittebane is a grimwalker of Philips older sister, Aurora Wittebane who happened to be the middle child in the Wittebane family. Aurora was killed by her younger brother Philip for falling in love with a female witch. Hunter is Belos' favorite Guard, more or so do to the fact the person he's a clone of atleast didn't fall in love with the same gender, let alone isn't a weak female..despite Amity telling Belos multiple times that he doesn't feel like a girl, his feels in between almost..though Belos never sits down to listen, he always assumes it was Amity talking about some witch on this disgusting sinful isles. So, Amity works harder and harder each day to feel loved and appreciated by her uncle, yet it never happens.

Luz Noceda loves nature. Every so often she would go to a local forest and just goes hiking for hours at a time at most. She would often stop and admire the scenery. Or encounter a mountain creature. But one of these encounters might just be the best or the most dangerous one of her life. Their meeting leads to an adventure as they try to find the answer to all the stuff that's suddenly happening to them. As they try to find the end to an unfinished history between humans and demons.
