Eleanor is your regular teenager from the small rural town of Granville, Ohio. Addison warns Eleanor to steer clear of The Plastics, but she ignores (OK ignores is a harsh word) the advice and ends up sitting at their lunch table. Soon enough she's entangled in their messy drama getting involved in their petty squabbles, and even worse spreading rumors. As she becomes more and more engrossed in their world, she starts to question... if being a mean girl is such a bad thing? (Spoiler, alert, it is)
