Academic rivals to lovers in a dystopian/fantasy setting. That's it. That's the synopsis. Kidding! Lavanya has always struggled to help her family make ends meet. Aeryn is a snobby rich boy. They've hated each other since they were kids. Both find themselves competing in Blakewood university's annual games, which take place in a virtual reality world and are used to select four lucky kids into their university. Great for fans of the Hunger Games series (my alltime fav series that I've read 6 times by now hehe)

Two decades of worldbuilding. Twelve books of betrayal, blood, and the end of empires. In a world where animals rule and trust is the deadliest weapon-everyone you love will betray you. Step into Athea, where Salvatore Mamone spent 20 years crafting a realm unlike any other. Here, anthropomorphic animals are the dominant species, humans are mere slaves, and a crumbling empire stands on the precipice of annihilation. In the empire of Athea, the Sisterhood trains the most dangerous women in the realm. Assassins. Diplomats. Concubines. Spies. They wield Traits as unique as their souls-powers that can kill, seduce, or destroy with a whisper. Azrael never asked to be special. Abandoned by her mother and saved only by Lady Yasma's invocation of the ancient Right of Exception, she's spent years trying to disappear into the shadows of the Sisterhood's academy. But when her Trait finally manifests-a power so rare it exists only in forbidden texts-everything changes. The Sisterhood fears what she can do. Lady Zhitha, the steel-eyed headmistress, gives Azrael an impossible task: investigate her own mentor for treason. Yasma-the woman who raised her, saved her, loved her like a daughter-stands accused of betraying everything they hold sacred. As Azrael descends into paranoia, she learns the cruel truth: everyone manipulates, everyone lies, and everyone has ulterior motives. In Athea, trust is the most dangerous weapon of all. Some choices can't be undone. Some powers demand a price. And some secrets, once revealed, shatter everything you thought you knew about yourself. The Chronicles of Athea is a dark epic fantasy spanning 12 books where political intrigue meets cosmic horror, where love is a weakness and power is survival. No one is safe. Anyone is expendable. This is only the beginning. The empire is dying. The elder gods are waking.

Oxford, 1836. After the tragic and sudden death of their older brother and sole heir of the family, twin sisters Letitia and Eleanor Price have finally been given a chance to make a name for themselves in a world determined to forget them. Against all odds and the expectations of their bitter father, they pass Babel's entrance exam and secure their place at the Royal Institute of Translation. For once, not even their sex can hold them back. Within the halls of Babel, they meet their fellow first-years: Ramy, Robin, and Victoire. A mismatched group bound by wit, will, and the strange magic of language. Together, they become a cohort. A found family in a place that rarely welcomes outsiders. But Oxford holds more than just libraries and lectures. And in the shadows of the tower, Eleanor, or Nell, begins to notice Altan Trengsin: a third-year student from Taiwan, feared and admired in equal measure. Dark-eyed and sharp-tongued, he walks the line between myth and man. Letty warns her to stay away. Everyone does. But Nell can't stop watching him. And one day, he looks back. What begins as a glance turns into something far more dangerous. A connection forged in silence and longing. And as secrets surface and loyalties are tested, Nell must decide what she's willing to risk for the boy who was never supposed to be hers. - A slow-burn, forbidden-romance, strangers-to-lovers historical fantasy set within the stone walls of Babel. Where language is magic, revolution is brewing, and love may be the most dangerous translation of all. Author's Notes: What if Altan Trengsin was a student at Babel? just a crack fic because I can't stop thinking about Altan and his tragic fate in TPW and reading Babel right after didn't help. i'm obsessed with Babel. I'm obsessed with Altan. So i stitched them up together. Nothing crazy or very serious, a silly self-insert (absolutely) romance for shits and giggles. I hope you enjoy :)

"I want to know." "Know what?" "If I can still... if I'm capable of feeling pleasure." "That wreckage only the two of them knew. Only they had been at Golyn Niis and survived it. A mutual understanding of the horrors, of the rage. Of the anger at being pitied... of the fear of being broken forever."
