hogwarts, 1971-1978 after a devastating night of betrayal is brought to light, james potter ends up taking the blame for something he didn't do to protect his best friends. ultimately turning the remainder of his friends against him. james has never been good at being somebody all on his own, he needs other people to back him up. to keep him together. without them, who even is he? regulus doesn't know how to cope with the fact that his brother is as good as gone. happy without him, with his new brother, and his new family. and he can't quite get over that he was left behind, lumped in with his despicable parents. why he wasn't enough for sirius to stay.
