Grant Robinson is anything but average looking, hair whiter than snow and heterochromic eyes make him stand out in any crowd making him a target for bullying in uni, fuelling his desire to help others. Grant is back in town after a few years working away in the city, returning to his safe place after struggling with his own issues and unable to settle in London. Michael remembers what they meant to each other, but will Grant remember him the same way?. Michael isn't even sure he can cope with being near Grant again, Grant rejected him 20 years ago and he hasn't heard from him since. Neither knows each others past. What if he catches feelings again?. It could never work, right?. The Ways We Grow Up is a quiet exploration of girlhood through the layered lenses of patriarchy and matriarchy ,the structures that shape women, and the women who shape each other. Through moments both tender and questioning, the collection reflects on the ways women grow inside expectations ,sometimes embracing them, sometimes resisting them, always redefining them. These poems do not seek to accuse or absolve. They simply watch, remember, and ask: How do girls become women? And what parts of ourselves do we inherit along the way? But beneath the warmth of those moment lies a deeper question- what exactly is she being taught? Care? Survival? Tradition? Or the quiet weight of roles written long before she was born?

This book is a true story about a relationship that pushed me to my limits. It is about three years lived in an emotional carousel where love, rejection, hope, and humiliation blended together until I no longer knew who I was. It is about my attempts to understand why we sometimes remain in relationships that hurt us and why it can be so difficult to walk away. But it is also a story about healing. Through therapy, family constellations, and deep introspection, I began to uncover what was truly hidden behind my suffering. And unexpectedly, along with emotional healing came a profound change in my professional life. This is not just a story about love. It is a story about loss, awareness, personal power, and about how sometimes the most painful experiences can become the beginning of a completely different life.

This will be a compilation of poems I've written over time explaining the scrambled, dark, anxious thoughts I've had, but also the upside of things. I'll be explaining the story behind each poem and giving my perspective on what it was like going through things such as depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, loneliness, and the list goes on.
