Gale has always been able to manipulate her dreams at will until a recent dream landed her in The Dreaming. On a mission to find out more about why she's able to change dreams at will, as well as her parents' mysterious deaths when she was a teenager, she looks to befriend and work with Morpheus in order to do so. However, as she gets to know Morpheus, the world she knows today begins to flip upside down. Who she is, where she comes from, and circumstances surrounding her parents death cause destruction in worlds beyond The Dreaming and the living. ---- Will shift to M Rating Set in the Netflix adaptation of The Sandman. All characters, apart from my own original characters, are Neil Gaiman's creations.

This story is about two people who are extremely similar to each other but are also as far apart as they can be. one is like a bird locked in a cage and the other is like the cat outside the cage waiting to pounce. they're trying to work through their issues but she comes to realization that she's the one who's putting in the work. and she's tired of it and when he goes missing she decides I'm done and leaves. Same time as she's you know left the dreaming he's also thinking that all the things that he's done wrong and he's realizing she wasn't the problem he was he was so emotionally unattached that he didn't realize that he was the one that ruined their relationship. and once he's freed he's going to try and fix that relationship but she's not going to have it she's going to tell him to leave her alone who she wants nothing to do with them she may love him but he betrayed her Also I do not own Sandman I only own the original characters and some of the plot the Sandman belongs to the right people who people who made it like Neil Gaiman and Netflix and whatever

A crossover event unlike any you've seen before, and a love letter to both Alan Moore's Watchmen and Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Someone is murdering time travelers and speedsters in the DC multiverse, and hardly anyone has noticed. Meanwhile, one of the Endless has gone mad, affecting reality in a myriad of unsavory ways. All of spacetime begins to unravel. The only chrono-kinetics left alive in the entire DC multiverse must find a missing hero from the Marvel's Earth-616... somehow. When all seems lost, an unexpected and powerful ally reveals they've been trying to help all along. I know the broad strokes of the plot, and many of the characters I'll be using, but I'm going to try to let the characters go wherever feels right from scene to scene. In other words, I use my improv training when I write, so this is going to be a wild ride :-D I've deliberately left out some more well-known characters, partly because they're too powerful and partly as a personal challenge. Notes: This story presents an alternate ending for Doctor Manhattan, because I just didn't get what the writers of Doomsday Clock were thinking. These events begin right after the events of The Button. You don't have to read The Button first, but the story might be a little more fun for you if you do. *The Linear Ones* isn't compatible with the ending of Doomsday Clock, because it requires Doctor Manhattan to still be alive. The easiest way for that to happen is to move a version of Kal-El from one universe to another, then raise and/or train him personally. While it's true that everything ends, every ending contains with itself the seeds of a new beginning. *The Linear Ones* contains spoilers for the following comics: The Sandman (75-issue run by Neil Gaiman), Watchmen, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Zero Hour, Marvel vs DC, Infinite Crisis, Final Crisis, Time Masters: Vanishing Point, Flashpoint Paradox, DC Universe: Rebirth, The Button, and Doomsday Clock. Aurora was known as Daydream amongst the Endless. To rule alongside her husband in the Dreaming, while bringing joy and creativity into the Waking. However, when Dream gets captured by mortals, Aurora falls into a deep sleep. The queen of dreams became trapped in a form of stasis, until the return of her husband.

I tilted my head slightly, watching her. The shifting light of the library cast long shadows, stretching and curling along the floor like the tendrils of an unseen thing waiting just beyond sight. Change was a fragile thing, delicate in its forming, unpredictable in its results. That Gault-a nightmare, once a being of fear-had chosen to become something else entirely was a notion I was still getting used to. Never before had I reshaped a nightmare into a dream, nor a dream into a nightmare. The distinction had always been absolute, a line never crossed. But now, here she was. The first of her kind. A possibility I had not considered before. If one could change, could others? Would they want to? Would they dare? And what, I wondered, would that make me, the one who governs them? Change in the Dreaming. I almost could not believe it myself.

Based off of Netflix's "The Sandman" so expect spoilers if you haven't watched it. highly recommend it though! great show!
