Both of them, seeking comfort from their pain, agree to spend one week together using nicknames for each other, and that after the week is through, they will go back to their separate lives. Will they be able to leave each other after this shared week together, or will love creep in anyway? Throughout the story, Josie goes on an adventure to find family, love, and true friendship. Realizing that she is a lot stronger than she believes herself to be. As soon as she saw him she new that he was her love. Little did she know, he's thinking the same thing.

After thousands of years being head elf and a fight that accidentally triggers the Escape Clause Bernard realizes that there's something else that is more important than having immortality.

But things get complicated when Scott is told he needs to find a wife over else the Christmas magic is gone forever. Four years later things get even more complicated with Jack Frost and the Escape Clause. Which turns both their lives upside down. When Scott Calvin gets to take his son and daughter for the night of Christmas Eve, absolutely nothing goes how it was expected to.
