"Is that a damn dog?" Merle asked Daryl, who had paused to light a smoke stopped, just before the lighter touched the cigarette. Looking towards the house he sees the familiar white and black speckled fur, stained with red. "Son of bitch." He hisses, the lighter and cigarette hitting the ground as he raced to the house. Merle was confused but was fast on his brother's heels, they bust into the house and found it was quiet besides the sound of dishes clattering in the sink and water swishing. They share a look before entering the kitchen, there they spot their sister. Aspen stood at the sink with her back to them, washing dishes as their father sat at the table eating and drinking.
