Things aren't always as easy as they seem....

When 22 year-old music lover and daydreamer Ellie Clark is presented, by chance, the opportunity to work for one of her favorite bands, her stagnant life rapidly changes, and she finally gets to live out the adventure she has been longing for her whole life. Follow this young girl as she finds new passions, pursues her dreams, and falls in love with the singer of her favorite band. Background info: *This story begins in New York in 2002 in the middle of Fiona, a minor character, breaking up with Julian. The break-up is a catalyst for the writing of the song "Automatic Stop." Julian becomes depressed for a short amount of time, but he soon gets a "different view" when he meets Ellie... *The story is written in first person and alternates perspectives between Julian and Ellie, the two main characters, telling the story in present tense. ❣ Fun Fact: The Strokes' T in the Park 2004 "Automatic Stop" performance inspired me to write this story. ✏️Author's Note: This is my first fan fiction! tried my best to write this piece with accuracy by reading obscure Strokes articles, watching several interviews, listening to their music, and subsequently incorporating various aspects into the creation of this story. Is it unprofessional to form personal relationships with the band? *All scenarios are fictional but may be based on the factual timeline of the Strokes career. You know what Nikolai doesn't get enough credit, and just because maybe he's not as attractive as the rest to me, some people find him better look than the rest. HE DESERVES LOVE LIKE THE REST OF US! Lol why am I yelling caps. But in all honesty Nikolai doesn't get enough credit so I decided to make a fanfic for him which is all fluff (yes for once a story with no smut wow! When she and her gay best friend Nathan win tickets to an Arctic Monkeys concert and its afterparty on a radio show they are excited beyond measure. The day comes and the amazing concert is followed by the afterparty, where there is an ungodly amount of alcohol. Knowing Audrey, she happily proceeds to drink. A lot. The next morning Donna wakes up in an unfamiliar room, next to a still sound asleep young man with a sloppy quiff. He looks all too familiar. Donna is absorbed by selfhatred and disgust, she had participated in another onenightstand. What she doesn't know, is that it later reveals to be a morenightstand.
