When Laina Michaels receives a message from her friend Blake Redding, her life is turned upside down. She believed that he had died with the rest of the victims of the latest Thinning. He informs her about an underground network taking the children that have been taken to the Thinning and holding them in a underground chamber underneath Vista Point High School, along with the victims from the elementary school. The underground network, or as the victims call it "The Chamber" was formerly ruled by Mason King and then taken over by the guards who worked with him. The government knows nothing about "The Chamber", and neither do the victim's families. They still believe that their children are dead. Laina has to rescue all of the victims, expose "The Chamber", Get back the guy that she fell for, and end The Thinning once and for all, all while not getting caught. One result leads to world peace, and less death, and the other result leads to certain death for Laina and Blake. Which ending will play out in their favor?

Based of of the YouTube Red movie "The Thinning" WARNING: THIS IS GOING TO BE NOTHING LIKE THE ACTUAL MOVIE!!! I had not watched the movie when I started writing this, it was based off of the trailer. This is an AU so it will have completely different characters and plot.

However, in a politically manipulating and overpopulated world, extra measures had to be taken to ensure that certain students get a disadvantage. All of a sudden, grades don't seem to matter anymore. The United Nations is facing a problem. In short, there's less land and too many people. Despite China's "one-child per family law" and several other regulations, the universal population is ever-growing and resources are drying out. Therefore, the natural thing to do is to simply cut out the irrelevant parts of society. This process is called Modum, or simply The Limit.

Every year, students are required to take a test that tests their intelligence to take care of the problem of overpopulation. One kid decides to mess with the system, somehow dragging along 8 other kids.

Ellie Harper (Lia Marie Johnson) failed on her 10-241 test. The 10-241 test is a test that every student from grades one through twelve take. Because over overpopulation, if you fail the test then you will be executed.

The Thinning meets The Hunger Games in this unique sci-fi/thriller. [Warning! Mature audience - Contains sex scenes and violence] Know-it-all Alurah lives on a concrete and steel island called New Ocean which floats lazily above the earth's atmosphere.
