"I knew it was too good to be true. And suddenly I was drowning in his web of lies." When Kayla met Jaxon, he was sweet, kind, and never let anything hurt her. Now two years into the relationship, he's cruel, controlling, and doesn't let anyone near her due to his jealous nature. Kayla doesn't love him anymore, but what can she do? He doesn't let her leave. My name is Jeremy Greywolf Gunter, and for this short story contest, I present to you the a three part poem. In this poem lies a tale of the dreams that we as humans make and the hopes for these dreams to come true, only to have our desires blurted out by reality. As you read this poem, ask yourself: can we catch the stars if we reach far enough? Or does the sky we stretch out to only limit us to how far off the ground we stand? I dedicate this piece to #thirteencomets; she has astounding talent. Respect.

What are dreams? What if you couldn't get out of one? Sitting in classroom. Another usual Monday. But then...everybody stood up. Everybody began melting. And that's when you realised- nightmares can't get this worse...but nor can reality.
