Ed and Lorraine Warren have both experienced a lot of strange things in the past. Ed grow up in a haunted house, while Lorraine discovered early that she had a gift only a few people have. Ed and Lorraine are now some of the world's most famous ghost hunters. It all began in 1944, when Ed and Lorraine met at "The Colonial Theater" in Bridgeport, Connecticut where Ed worked. They were 16 years old and became friends. Not long after, they started dating.

Dalton Ford has known the Warrens ever since they brought him back from possession. If it weren't for them he'd be dead. Over time the Warrens realized Dalton had the same gift Lorraine had. He went on cases with them and matured into his gift. So when the Warrens and Dalton find themselves facing the most malevolent case that was the Perron's, things get even more dangerous and serious.
