After Mateo dies, he goes to the afterlife. There he rediscovers the story of his life and Rufus, the boy he loved. Will Mateo wait for Rufus or will he explore the next life on his own? This is a "They Both Die At The End" by Adam Silvera fanfiction. It is an extended ending to the original story where the characters get to 'live' happily ever after. I loved this book so much I wanted to give the characters a happy ending. Not my image.

I was in my history class, reading They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera, and i thought, what if it was Newtmas? newtmas au characters belong to James Dashner universe this story is derived from is the same universe that Adam Silvera created in his book They Both Die at the End very influenced by this book ^^

Story based on what happens after Rufus and Mateo die in They Both Die At The end by Adam Silvera: what afterlife would be like for Rufus and Mateo, how they meet up again, their journey through it, coming out to their dead relatives, Mateo's mom (how I see her), Rufus's family, etc :) This is my first fanfic and I just recently finished this awesome book! I do recommend since maybe a few things might not make that much sense if you haven't read it. Different ending to 'They both die at the end' (short story)

[completed]***All characters in this belong to Adam Silvera, author of They Both Die At The End :)*** Mateo and Rufus both got calls from Death-Cast saying that they will be dying in the next 24-hours. They get in touch through an app designed for Deckers trying to make a last friend on their End-Day called the LastFriend app. They meet up and are fortunate to spend almost the entire day together. There were ups and downs but this will be an experience they'll never forget even if they're destined to die at the end. It's almost 9 o'clock and they're both resting in Mateo's bed back at his apartment. **highly recommend reading the book before this~ I read this book a few years ago and it instantly became my favourite. I decided to write this since the end of the book hurt like hell and this was how I dealt with the pain lmao Hopefully I caught all the mistakes when I updated it, if not, please lmk :)
