Dakotah (pronouns they/them) felt like nobody would ever love them because of their identity. Ever since they came out as nonbinary, all they faced was backlash from everyone but a few close friends. Living a small life as a masc presenting nonbinary person was hard, and it felt impossible (at least for Dakotah). They lived thinking nobody would ever fall for them, until one day they met someone special - her.

I found a small black notebook with directions hidden inside. I followed them with an open mind. I didn't believe the notebook to be anything special until everything went very wrong. Note from the author: I created this short story for a fun competition on Vocal. I was thinking about making a part two, explaining where my character went wrong.
