Lai does what she can to survive. Living in a dangerous town and avoiding the wrath of a harsh government, she fends for herself, and always has since a she was a little girl. With little choice, Lai learns to accept her lifestyle, and uses poverty to the best of her advantage. Witty and sly, she made the perfect thief. Meanwhile, the government of Ranok has all the commoners on edge. Before the War, there had been rebel organizations, which were what started the violence in the first place. Now more rebels were emerging, challenging the authority and rule of the government. As rebels urged other commoners to step up through their actions, the amount of rebels caught and punished drastically increased. They needed more rebel support. She needed a way to get out.

After quickly assessing the situation, I pulled my dagger from my belt and made my way towards him. He backed away in fear, eyeing the sharp blade. He continued until he hit the wall. I stared at him for a moment before sheathing the knife. He relaxed slightly. "Thank the sun," he exhaled in relief. "For a moment there I thought you were gonna-" I abruptly punched him in the side of the head, knocking him out.

And people wondered why he preferred thieving to "actually getting a job". *~*~*~*~* Jisung tried out pickpocketing when he was merely thirteen years old. Nearly a decade later, his habit follows him wherever he goes. Consequently, trouble does too.

All he wanted was to get to his love, his true love, coming on the afternoon train. But did he, by saving an elderly woman from a common thief, miss his chance?

Having parents who often fight, argue and never seem to be bothered by the fact that their child is suffering, Alice have had enough. Short Story originally written for a creative writing assignment, but decided to share it with others! In the small villages, famine and poverty ravage, and Israh is determined to help as well as she can. One day, while in town to rob the abandoned houses, she bumps into 17-year-old Nasim. Nasim drags her (against her will) aboard his ship, suspecting her of searching for the same treasure as him.
