This think piece was created to address parenting styles that are detrimental and traumatising to children. This think piece addresses these parenting styles and ways to overcome them- focusing particularly on traditional African parenting styles. In a modern society, with so many ways of learning and so many reasons to adapt to the global modernisation there is strictly no reason for such parenting styles to still be in continuation. I employ you to share this think piece with your friends and family, your colleagues, your neighbours, your grandma and her dog!- everyone. Let's get this think piece out so we can collectively think of ways to become better. Rather than continuing repetitive cycles of pain and trauma, together let's change the way we raise our children. So we can get one step closer to a better society.
