Mateo was a volleyball player, and his best friend Josh was head over heels in love with Jennie. It seemed like everyone had a crush on someone, except for Kimberly, who had kept her feelings for Mateo under wraps. Little did she know that Mateo was also harboring a secret crush on her. As the school year progressed, Mateo tried to keep his feelings under control, but he accidentally let it slip to a few of his classmates. Although Kim was oblivious to his crush, she waited patiently for Mateo to ask her to the school dance. She had already turned down Cris, a boy in her class who had asked her out multiple times, as he wasn't nearly as perfect as Mateo. For months, Mateo and Kim exchanged glances, but neither made a move. Then, Kim began to suspect that Mateo was crushing on her, which was later revealed to be true. She confided in The Pretty Ones, revealing that she too had feelings for Mateo. As the school year came to an end, they both found out they were going to the same university. Maybe it was fate, or maybe it was just coincidence, but they were both excited at the prospect of continuing their love story in college.

I would say that I've never loved anyone like Jack. Of course you love your parents and your family and your best friend but this was different. This was the kind of love that had me going for days just smiling. This love was amazing, it made me dream and think of wonderful things that wouldn't have ever come up before.
