After being presumed dead for a second time after the events in Thor 2, Loki is back and free from his imprisonment in the dungeons of Asgard. With everyone thinking they are safe from the threat of the rouge Asgardian prince, he is liberated to do what he pleases. For now, he lurks around Asgard, unseen by all, watching his brother in his everyday life and sometimes even taking another's form to participate. However, Loki knows that he can't keep this secret life up forever. Not only is unsure where to go next, but he must figure out if his evil days are over or if he still has a hunger for power.

Loki Odinson's happiness is mangled in the quest to settle the endless dispute between Asgard and Alfheim. He finds that the only way to stop the raging war is to marry the Princess of Alfheim, Princess Elizabeth. The only problem? Loki is in love with someone else. It all happened on a summer night at Stonehenge. Natalie was an average citizen of London. He loved her family and her friends and she loved everything a normal girl would love; shopping, movies, and boys. But her whole life changed when she heard of a "supernatural occurrence" at Stonehenge and checked it out herself. Loki was an Asgardian. Born a frost giant, he was God of Mischief and he seemed to find Natalie very captivating. After taking her to his land of Asgard, Loki finds out that the dark elves, a group of people his brother Thor had defeated long ago, were rising again. Worried about the upcoming war, Loki tries to find a way to protect Natalie. But sadly, Natalie is taken hostage by the Dark Elves new king, Mordin. Loki tries to save her, but there is no way Mordin can just let her go, is there? Because Natalie has powers she never knew she had, and Mordin is power hungry for her abilities. That is, unless, Loki would give up his powers and die for her.

A person is chosen to watch over, and protect a member of the royal family of Asgard and will be their protecter, and must die before the person they are protecing does. They're named as Guardians. Amara Salvatore is the Guardian of Frigga, Queen of Asgard. And just like others before her it's her job to protect her.
