Meanwhile Thorin is forcing the company to search through the massive piles of gold for the Arkenstone, unaware Bilbo has it in his possession. Y/N has tried to bring Thorin out of his darkness but he refuses to believe he will become like his grandfather. War is coming and the company is thrust into battle and Thorin must overcome this darkness and fight in the war or he will lose everyone... Can Y/N save him?

Heartbroken our Reader finds herself lost in a strange foreign yet familiar land filled with Dwarves and Orcs. Joining the company of Thorin Oakenshield, (Name) travels through the countryside to find a way back to her home with the Avengers.

What if Thorin never died? How did he survive?

In many fanfictions, reader insert or otherwise, OC's or reader characters are always adept at nearly everything. But haven't you ever wondered would would really happen if you, or any other ordinary human dropped in to Middle Earth? I know it's fun to pretend to be the hero, to be impressively gifted, because how else could you win the heart of Prince Charming? Well, what if just you could be enough. This is a story with a message very alike the message of the original Hobbit book, and even The Lord of the Rings. This is a story about how an ordinary person can be extraordinary. (Occasional profanity and some violence.) I occasionally go back into previous chapters and edit things to fit the future plot, so if something isn't adding up I probably changed it in an earlier chapter.

After Erebor was reclaimed, and the battle of the five armies was through, Thorin and the rest of the Dwarves took back their home and not after long, all of the Dwarves who were ran out by Smaug came back and Erebor was as if it was never taken. Due to everything getting back to normal, the Dwarves height had to match the work and environment even more. One day, a ranger finds her way to the City of Dale, just South-East of the Lonely Mountain, after receiving an anonymous letter from someone saying they want to talk to her about work. Who she ends up working for, or with, becomes something no one would have ever thought it would.
