Life is an optional word...right? Rose wishes her life was optional. Often times she feels like every good thing is counter-acted by something terrible. "Rose's Thorns" is a riveting and heart-moving read. The realistic nature of the characters makes it easy to relate to their lives. It's easy to find yourself getting sucked into the story as the characters become your friends...enemies...family. I don't want to give too much away, or anything for that matter. The Little Prince was upset that his rose is not Unique, unlike what he thought . And, worse was that she had thorns that made her so imperfect. He failed to see her real beauty and didn't understood that She is unique and special because she belongs to him. Her thorns, maybe, are her flaws but She is still beautiful and "His". The Poem is about how he realised this fact later and returns to his awaiting Rose. Ebony, one of the species of dragon called shadows, is kept in a large dome-cave at least a mile long with every other known shadow. She of all was cursed with a diamond on her head. She doesn't understand why this is a curse, just that it terrible to have. And her only chance of not getting exiled, or worse, dead, is to paint it over. and all was quite for ebony until her paint scratched of on a thorn bush, which launches her into a world of terror, fear, grief, and death. But how could a 4-scale diamond shape on her forehead do her this much?
