A Thoroughbred fanfic. This story takes place approximately 16 months after my story "Behind the Northern Lights". Everything seems picture-perfect for Ashleigh and Mike. They are forced to make tough decisions and they soon learn that it is necessary, though not always easy to compromise.

Samantha Jennings lives in the state of Michigan, with her family. Her parents own a large breeding farm, housing many champion Thoroughbreds. But when Sam finds the horse she loves most, will she be able to buy him as her own? Will his nasty owner give in, before it's too late to save his life?

Frost is only a 5 minute old foal and since then she got forgotten about. The people at the barn didnt want her. So they planned to get rid of her in a different way. Before that tragedy happens, Frost gets saved along with three more fillies. They wait to get adopted. Frost is last to get adopted. Frosts story continues throughout the years with her new owner. Please keep in mind that this story is completely all my idea. It took me a while to come up with it all. I also mention death and other more adult things so please if you are a child, ask your parents abput reading such words. Thanks!

His sire wasn't just a champion but a stallion said to have been a match for Man O' War in his prime. But this colt carried heavy expectations on his back not just because of who his sire was but because he was the firstborn of Bloodless Day.

Fifteen year old Lexin Baques is living in poverty during a near dystopian period. Her only living friends are Kalep, not-exactally-related older sister, Doreen Thusom, and stocky, large-hearted stallion, Maral. When Kalep gets a letter indicating that he needs to participate in a deadly race through the Appal mountian range, everything in Lexin's life goes a-wall. This is until, she gets the same letter herself. Only one can win- and those who don't will be sent to Government Housing, everything taken away. Things take a twisted, bloody turn for the worse when everything goes wrong. What is the Appal-Foot race? Those who are not able to pay monthly living taxes are sent a notification letter indicating that they must come up with enough money to pay their unpaid taxes, as well as a year's ahead of time (Which is virtually impossible), or race in the Appal-Foot. The Race, usually lasting around a week, is either on horseback or on foot, and you must survive until you can travel the mileage and win the race. Problem is, in the race, anything can happen. People will do anything to win, including taking the lives of others, stealing horses, and cheating. Many people just die out of lack of knowledge of how to care for themselves. Either way, the mountains and cliffs are dotted with the bodies of desperate horses and riders, all in it for one purpose-just to keep their life rolling on track.

Robert Walls has retired from breeding and owning Thoroughbreds, his famous farm Star Farms gates closed forever.On the soil of the beautiful farm, stepped many famous horses, Ruffian, Seattle Slew, Dynaformor, and many more.The last of his crop were sold at the Keenland sales, he was left with two broodmares, a filly, and a recently retired stallion, in which the owners gave full ownership to Robert. Roberts nephew Evan Larson has been in the racing world for years, spending days at his uncles farm, petting the colts and helping muck the stalls. All of his knowledge on racing and horses came from his uncle Robert. At age 28, Evan is ready and excited to start his new life as a owner and breeder, Robert had handed the remaining horses, the broodmares, filly, and stud to Evan. In order to help his nephew, Robert offered to serve as trainer. Evans uncle also hired his best groom, vet, and exercise rider that had worked at Star Farms. Can Evan do it? Or will the barn crash and burn?

As well as trying to get a training job, she attends rodeos for barrel racing and pole bending. The 16 year old girl gets to rope with a cowboy who offers her a training job on his fathers ranch.
