In the slumps of Miami, it's a blessing to see 18 and not have been arrested, especially for minorities. It doesn't matter what happens in between, just make mama proud and graduate.

This poem was inspired by the type of girl that goes to church Sunday morning, but is a total Thot. I attempted to bring the language of my generation into poetry to help expand the modern cannon. My English teacher called this poem very interesting and very powerful, so I hope you find it the same. I hope this to be the first in a poetry collection I would like to publish next year.
