He gave her no real purpose for the movie, other than adding unnecessary drama to the mix (again, for audience appeal) But what if, she was more than just a young damsel in distress, in need of a lover? More than just a naïve, reckless figure in love? What if, she were Mirkwood's highest ranking warrior, trained in the deadly art of defense, her main focus to protect her beloved people, (though most especially the King and his son) from whatever harm there may be in the deep dark of Mirkwood, and the evil beyond? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For many years, the young fiery tempered elleth trained under the guard of Mirkwood, learning to master both blade and bow.
