It has been ten years since Aelin and Rowan were finally freed from the burden of war. Terrasen has recovered and its rebuilding process has finished with the citizens admiring their new queen, Aelin Galathynius. But there are some scars of war that can't be healed fully. Aelin and her court still mourn the loss of the Thirteen and their fearless leader, Manon. However, when Aelin and Rowan take their young daughter out on a walk through Oakwald forest, a portal opens up, sending them into the Night Court. It is there where they meet the Inner Circle, Feyre, Rhysand, and their young child, Nyx.
